Study shows small airways disease with the presence of air trapping is a long-lasting sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection

A total of 100 adults with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection who had symptoms for more than 30 days after diagnosis were prospectively recruited for the study from June to December 2020. Written informed consent was obtained from all subjects before inclusion. In addition, 106 healthy subjects prospectively enrolled during March to August 2018 as part of a different protocol served as controls.
